It was reported that China is going to lead the recovery of global aluminum demand in the last quarter of this year.
According to Zhu Yi, a senior analyst at Bloomberg, China’s aluminum product imports had a year-on-year increase of 347% to 1.64 million tons in the first eight months of this year, of which the imports of unprocessed aluminum and aluminum products had a month-on-month hike of 9.8% and a year-on-year increase of 724% in August.
The sharp increase in China’s domestic demand was mainly boosted by the Chinese government’s plans to develop infrastructure, electrical grids, and the automobile industry after the economic shrinkage caused by the COVID-19 epidemic this year.
