A Reuters report quoting data from China’s Customs department as saying that China's smelters exported 552,000 metric tonnes of aluminium last month, improving over December’s revised total of 520,000metric tonnes. The latest figures crossed the previous high-mark of 542,700 metric tonnes in December 2014. The export increase has been credited to the continued tepid domestic demand.
With January’s total included, China has shipped at least half a million metric tonnes each month for seven of the last eight months.
