Recently, the Chengde Iron and Steel Group has developed a new technology- electro-aluminothermic process to produce vanadium-aluminum alloy, filling the gap in this field in the whole world. Through this technology, the Group has smelt about 200 kilogram qualified "55 vanadium-aluminum alloy" for the aviation industry, and found out a number of technology parameters, which lays the foundation for further establishing industrial production line.
Vanadium-aluminum alloy is the material of titanium alloy applied to the aviation industry. For years, only America and Germany have realized industrial production. To occupy the advanced market of vanadium products, Chengde Iron and Steel Group has independently developed the new technology electro-aluminothermic process, whose smelt process is controllable, and the yield is up to over 90%, and has produced the intermediate product "85 vanadium-aluminum alloy", which meets the Germany's material standard. Through the constant research of the Group's vanadium-titanium project technology research center, the key parameter of the vacuum furnace's highest temperature are fixed finally. After several tests, the Group successfully completes the first smelt test of vanadium-aluminum alloy, and produces the finished products and establishes a complete set of material standard.
