Current Aluminum Prices
The price of Chinese aluminum scrap fell 1.8 percent on March 5, 2013, making it the day’s biggest mover after three days of flat prices.
The Chinese aluminum cash price steadied following two days of dropping prices. The price of Chinese aluminum bar was unchanged. Following two days of downward movement, the price of Chinese aluminum billet held steady.
After a 0.7 percent increase, the primary aluminum cash price finished the day on the LME at $1,926 per metric ton. On the LME, the aluminum 3-month price rose 0.6 percent to $1,972 per metric ton.
The cash price of primary Indian aluminum increased 0.1 percent.
Current Copper Prices
On March 5, 2013, the copper cash price experienced the biggest change, rising 1.7 percent on the LME to $7,750 per metric ton. At $7,741, the copper 3-month price finished the market day on the LME up 1 percent per metric ton.
Following two days of downward movement, the prices of US copper producer grades 102, 110 and 122 held steady.
The cash price of primary Japanese copper continues hovering in place for the fifth day in a row.
Chinese copper closed mixed yesterday. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap fell 0.9 percent on Tuesday. Following a two-day drop, the price of Chinese copper wire increased by 0.4 percent. After falling for two days, the price of Chinese copper bar rose 0.3 percent. The cash price of Chinese copper rose 0.3 percent after a two-day drop.
