The application of new technology in electrolytic industry can make a saving of 2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually by the end of 2015.This data can be found in “Guidance on energy saving and emission reduction in non-ferrous metal industry” (“Guidance” for short)issued by Chinese Ministry of Industry.
The “Guidance” issued on 19th ,Feb. defined that China’s non-ferrous metal industry will pursue development by taking a new road toward industrialization and popularize technology and develop new technology to achieve the 18% drop of added value in non-ferrous metal industry during five-year plan.
The “Guidance” pointed out that during 2011 to 2015,new saving technology can optimize various indexes by changing the structure of electrolytic cell in order to achieve fine efficiency low cost and a 90% coverage of new technology,by which per metric of aluminum can save about 1000 kilowatt hours of electricity,totally of 2 billion kilowatt hours annually.
The “Guidance” also indicated that companies should increase scientific and technology input in grave,key and common energy saving and emission reduction and comprehensive utilization of resources when popularizing energy saving and emission reduction.Major energy-saving and emission-reduction technologies such as clear process for reducing waste residue during smelting ,large-scale resource utilization technologies for solving red mud to pile-up and production of energy saving are on the list to research and develop.
