Bloomberg reported that copper inventories monitored by the Shanghai Futures Exchange gained to the highest level since at least 2003.
According to a survey of 10 warehouses in Shanghai, stockpiles of copper gained 3,294 tonnes to 224,781 tonnes. Those at bonded warehouses rose 599 tons to 14,001 tonnes.
According to a survey of 20 warehouses in Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, aluminum inventories climbed 15,242 tonnes to 361,088 tonnes the highest since May.
