Copper Stockpiles in Shanghai Increase to Highest Since 2003

 Copper inventories monitored by the Shanghai Futures Exchange gained to the highest level since at least 2003, weekly data from the bourse showed today.

 
 
Stockpiles (SHFCCOPD) of copper gained 3,294 metric tons to 224,781 tons, according to a survey of 10 warehouses in Shanghai, the exchange said on its website. Those at bonded warehouses rose 599 tons to 14,001 tons.
 
 
Aluminum inventories climbed 15,242 tons to 361,088 tons, the highest since May, according to a survey of 20 warehouses in Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.
 
 
Zinc stockpiles advanced 3,709 tons to 386,836 tons, based on a survey of 15 warehouses in Shanghai, Guangdong and Zhejiang, while those of lead lost 1,332 tons to 35,849 tons.
 
 
Natural-rubber inventories fell 210 tons to 28,194 tons, based on a survey of nine warehouses in Shanghai, Shandong, Yunnan, Hainan and Tianjin, the bourse said.
