Reportedly, China’s Zhongwang has aimed to become the world’s largest aluminum extruder by expanding its capacity of industrial extrusion to 1.2 million tonnes by 2015. Currently, the company’s production capacity is at 600,000 tonnes next to Swedish Sapa Group.
Over the past 8 years, the company attempted to shift its focus to high-end aluminum industrial extrusion from low end aluminum building extrusion. Ultimately its contribution margin ratio of industrial extrusion has reached 99.6%.
Besides, the company will put more emphasis on the domestic market in the future not only to respond to the rapid growing domestic demand but also to the punitive duties against China’s extrusion exports.
