India Infoline reported that China's copper concentrate imports in January declined 4.3% from a year earlier to 571005 tonnes.
The General Administration of Customs said that China's refined copper imports in January rose 24% from a year earlier to 245617 tonnes. The rise in refined Copper imports of China proves that the demand from the largest consumer is still not come down as was expected by the analysts.
It will be interesting to note the level of refined Copper imports in coming months as Chinese government stepped on the rising rate regime in Jan 2011.
