Mongolian Prime Minister Sukhbaatar Batbold said that if Chinese state-owned Chinalco wanted to take a stake in the giant Oyu Tolgoi copper project, its role would have to be approved by the Mongolian government.
Batbold said Chinese investment in Mongolia had been welcome, but he said any change to the Oyu Tolgoi partnership agreement between Mongolia, Rio Tinto and Ivanhoe Mines would have to go through government approval procedures. (Reuters)
