Yunnan strives to build national development base and economic center

According to the governor of Yunnan province Mr. Qin at a recent conference on February 16th, Yunnan will put great effort to establish national development base and economic center for miming industry aiming to achieve breakthrough on the mineral resources discoveries and exploitation such as cooper, gold, silver, iron ore, aluminum, coal and so on.

Yunnan province is rich in various ore products with huge deposit and great economic values. Especially the deposit of nonferrous metal ranking No 1 in the West China. In 2010, the province achieved CNY 82.3 billion added value on mining industry.

Mr. Qin said Yunnan province will put great effort to build 7 national development base and 7 economic zone for mining industry.

With the pace of industrialization and urbanization moving forward, the demand for mineral resources will be rising. Though the province has great resource reserves, the usage level remains considerably low.
