Chalco signs coal contract with Xinjiang Guanghui

Interfax-China reported that the Aluminum Corporation of China Co Ltd has signed a long term coal offtake contract with Xinjiang Guanghui Industry Co Ltd a private energy developer based in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

Xinjiang Guanghui will supply between 50,000 tonnes and 100,000 tonnes of thermal coal to Chalco in both November and December of this year. Throughout the period of 2011 to 2013, the company will supply Chalco with 1.5 million tonnes to 2 million tonnes of coal each year.

The price for thermal coal with a net calorific value of 5,300 kilocalories per kilogram has been set at CNY 410 per tonne, including transport costs. The price will remain in effect until December 31st 2013.
