China Aluminum Output May Advance to 16 Million Tons This Year , MIIT Says

China’s 2010 aluminum output may be 16 million metric tons, Zhang Fengkui, an official at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said at a conference today in Zhengzhou. Annual demand will grow to about 18 million tons in 2011-2015, Zhang said.

Output of aluminum in 2009 was 13 million tons, according to the statistics bureau.
