The Ministry of Industry & Information Technology said that China's nonferrous metal production increased by 31.9% YoY to 18.13 million tonnes in the first 7 months of 2010.
MIIT said that production of refined copper, electrolytic aluminum, lead and zinc grew 16.3% YoY, 45.6%, 6.9% and 26.5% to 2.64 million tonnes, 9.74 million tonnes, 2.16 million tonnes and 2.88 million tonnes in the first 7 months of 2010.
Fixed assets investment in nonferrous metals jumped 36% YoY to CNY 186.42 billion in the first 7 months, spending a total of CNY 250.91 billion on new projects, up by 65.8% YoY.
Nonferrous metal imports and exports totaled USD 66.82 billion in the first 7 months up by 58.4% YoY, increasing 49.4% YoY and 98.7% YoY to USD 51.51 billion and USD 15.31 billion, respectively.
