The current tight supply of aluminum capacitors is expected to ease in the second half of 2010, according to Vincent Weng, chairman of Taiwan-based aluminum capacitor maker Teapo Electronic.
Additionally, ASPs of aluminum capacitors will also remain stable in the second half due to limited capacity ramps from capacitor makers and rising raw material prices, Weng added.
Teapo also expects its shipments of aluminum capacitors to increase substantially starting the third quarter as the company has recently solved the bursting problem found in some of its capacitors and regained verification from a number of power supply equipment vendors, according to the company.
Meanwhile, Teapo plans to ramp up its capacity of solid capacitors to 12 million units a month in the fourth quarter of 2010, to 37 million units in June 2011, and further to 80 million units by year-end 2011, according to the company.
