World aluminium demand to fall further 7% -Alumina

SYDNEY, May 7 - Australia's Alumina Ltd , a joint venture partner with Alcoa Inc , on Thursday forecast a further 7 percent contraction in world aluminium demand this year. Most of the declines will occur in western countries, Alumina Chief Executive John Bevan told the company's annual shareholders meeting. Alumina is a 40 percent partner in the Alcoa World Alumina and Chemicals joint venture. Alcoa holds 60 percent.
