Aluminum production at the soon-to-be-formed United Company Rusal, or UCR, will be 3.756M metric tons, exceeding US Alcoa's 3.55M tons, says Goran Djukanovic, analyst at Montenegro-based producer Kobinat Aluminijuma Podgorica. But Alcoa's aluminum capacity remains the largest at 3.85M tons, compared with 3.835M tons at the new UCR, Djukanovic notes. Alcoa's revenues are almost three times those of UCR, at $27.535B in 2005. Djukanovic uses 2005 data. UCR is a new company formed from the merger of Russian firms Rusal and Sual Group, and the alumina assets of Swiss Glencore.
