Aluminum Corp. of China, or Chinalco, produced 9.62 million metric tons of alumina in 2006, up 59% from three years earlier, the official Xinhua News Agency said.
In 2006, the company's aluminum production tripled to 2.97 million tons, Xinhua reported late Wednesday.
It didn't provide production figures for 2005.
Chinalco posted CNY105.5 billion ($13.63 billion) in sales and CNY22.5 billion in profits last year.
Its total assets rose to CNY152.6 billion by end-2006, versus CNY110 billion at end-2005, Xinhua said.
Aluminum Corp. of China Ltd., or Chalco (ACH), is the world's second largest alumina producer and is a unit of Chinalco.
