Bids for scrap aluminum solids and other scrap generated by Boeing's Washington state facilities in first quarter 2007 are due by 10 am PST Monday December 18. Bid results will be posted on the Boeing Reclamation web site by the end of business December 21.
Based on the scrap shipped from August 15, 2006 through November 15, 2006, Boeing estimates that the following scrap will be generated during Q1 2007: Mixed aluminum solids, 450,000 lb at Kent or Auburn; mixed aluminum solids ("parts" requiring special bidder prequalification), 40,000 lb at Kent; 2000 Series aluminum solids, 240,000 lb at Kent; 6000 Series aluminum solids, 40,000 lb at Kent; 6000 Series aluminum bulk, 20,000 lb at Kent; 7000 Series aluminum solids, 80,000 lb at Kent; loose contaminated aluminum borings, 60,000 lb at Kent; unprepared steel, 250 gross tons at various Puget Sound locations; #1 heavy melting steel, 45 GT at various Puget Sound locations; briquetted aluminum borings (about 50-50 mix of 2000 and 7000 series alloys), two lots of 1.2 million lb each at Auburn; and briquetted aluminum borings (about 50-50 mix of 2000 and 7000 series alloys), two lots of 1.5 million lb each at Puyallup.
