Rio Tinto announced that its bauxite output totaled around 14.6 million tons in the second quarter of 2020, growing by 9% compared to the same period a year ago. The production of primary aluminum was 800,000 tons, keeping flat from the previous quarter; that of high titanium slag was roughly 260,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 13%.
Rio Tinto CEO Jean-Sébastien Jacques said that the group had a strong performance in the second quarter, especially in the production of iron ore and bauxite.
