Rio Tinto Alcan is taking its search for contractors for its massive Kitimat smelter modernization project to Vancouver this week.
The company will hold a contractor forum at the Vancouver Convention Centre on Wednesday. The forum will feature a trade show display of local northern businesses.
R-T-A says the full-day event will inform and educate 250 industry professionals regarding the various contract opporutnities available through the 2.5-billion-dollar modernization.
The smelter site is already abuzz with construction activity, in advance of the formal Rio Tinto approval of the project, with 300-million dollars earmarked this year.
