Alcan to sell its Satma unit in France to Italy's Almeco

PARIS - Canadian aluminium supplier and bauxite miner Alcan Inc said it has agreed in principle to sell its Satma unit in France to Italian lighting components maker Almeco SpA.

Alcan said the final terms will be agreed after talks with employee representatives have concluded, and the deal is expected to close by the end of May.

Satma manufactures and sells capacitor foil for the electronic industry and anodised strip for the lighting and decoration markets, Alcan said.
