Canadian packaging group Alcan will make two major investments, worth nearly EUR 17m altogether, in plastics packaging this year. The group is investing CHF 15m (EUR 9.2m) in a production line for closed-cell speciality foam in Switzerland. In India, USD 10m (EUR 7.6m) is being spent on a plant for flexible packaging. In particular, this will manufacture multi-layer and barrier films of PE, PET and PP for food and hygiene applications. Both facilities are due to start up in Q4 2007.
