Alcan US Jan transaction price rises to $1.33/lb

NEW YORK, Jan 8 (Reuters) - Alcan Inc. , the world's second largest maker of primary aluminum, said its posted U.S. January transaction price for aluminum products rose by four cents to $1.33 per pound compared with the previous month.

Alcan said its price for 99.7 remelt increased to $1.33 a lb, while its 6063 extrusion billet price was now being quoted at $1.43 a lb.
