Canadian Primary Aluminum Production

January 5, 2007 – The Aluminum Association of Canada announced that primary aluminum production in Canada rose five-tenths of one percent in December to an annual rate of 3,084,179 metric tons, an increase of 14,541 tpy over the November rate of 3,069,638 metric tons. Compared to a year ago, the annual rate of production was up 1.6 percent over the December 2005 annual rate of 3,034,198 tonnes. Actual production in December totaled 261,944 tonnes and 3,051,127 tonnes for the full year. At year end, Canadian primary production was up 5.4 percent over the 2005 total of 2,894,268 tonnes.
