MONTREAL (Reuters) - Alcan Inc. said on Monday it named Michel Jacques head of its primary metal group and chose Christel Bories to lead its engineered products business, effective December 1.
Jacques, 54, is currently president and chief executive of Alcan Engineered Products. Bories, 42, is president and chief executive of Alcan Packaging.
A new head of the packaging business will be named later, Alcan said.
Last week, Anglo American Plc, the world's third-largest miner, appointed Cynthia Carroll as its new chief executive. Carroll, 49, is chief executive of Alcan Primary Metal.
Alcan, the world's second-largest maker of primary aluminum, said Michael Hanley, 41, continues as its chief financial officer and Jacynthe Cote, 48, remains chief executive of Alcan Bauxite and Alumina.
Alcan shares were up 82 Canadian cents at C$51.08 on the Toronto Stock Exchange, and up 16 cents to $45.36 on the New York Stock Exchange on Monday afternoon.
