Aluminium Bahrain (Alba)’s position as one of the Southern Governorate’s leading industrial establishment was given an added boost with the company’s support to the Gergaoon celebration organised for children in the governorate on Thursday, August 2, 2012.
The Gergaoon celebrations -- organised by the Southern Governorate -- provided Alba with the opportunity to engage with the community, and gives its backing to an activity that would bring families together for an evening of fun, games and refreshments.
Commenting on the company’s support to the Southern Governorate’s Gergaoon celebrations, Alba’s Chief Executive, Laurent Schmitt, said:
“Gergaoon is a family event held in the middle of the holy month of Ramadan, and is eagerly awaited by children all over Bahrain. Our support for the event underlines our commitment to promote and preserve some of Bahrain’s social, cultural and Islamic traditions as well as strengthen the kingdom’s rich heritage. It enables us to further strengthen our social involvement in the Southern Governorate that we are part of, and also extend our backing to various activities taking place within the community.”
The Gergaoon celebrations included a traditional band that performed the Alfurisia dance, henna, falcon display, competitions, live DJ, distribution of gifts and Gergaoon bags as well as an array of Bahraini sweets.
