Global aluminium giant Alba sees excellent growth opportunities in the European markets, the company's chief executive has said.
"The European market presents a fantastic growth opportunity for Alba as we remain committed towards increasing the global presence of our product portfolio," Laurent Schmitt said.
"Presently, sales to Europe occupy nearly 10 to 15 per cent of our output, and we have already outlined a strategy to develop this market further and profit from the opportunities available," he said as Alba announced its involvement as sponsor and participant in CRU's 15th World Aluminium Conference in Oslo, Norway.
It is the company's ongoing commitment to strengthen its global presence, attract new customers, expand ties with industry leaders, and position Bahrain as an attractive economic destination for international investors, the Alba chief said
The conference is widely considered to be an authoritative event for senior-level decision-makers in the aluminium industry from around the world.
It will be held from tomorrow to Wednesday at the Radisson Blu Plaza, Oslo.
CRU is an independent business analysis and consultancy group focused on the mining, metals, power, cables, fertiliser and chemicals sectors.
Founded in the late 1960s and still privately owned to ensure its independence, the group employs more than 200 experts in London, Beijing, Santiago, Sydney and key centres within the US.
"It is our privilege to support CRU's World Aluminium Conference once again, and to take advantage of this global platform that brings together leaders from the aluminium industry for networking, pursuing business leads, and to learn about new technologies, innovations and developments in the industry," Mr Schmitt said.
Alba will also have an exhibition stand on the sidelines of the conference to showcase its wide range of high-quality aluminium products.
The event provides a comprehensive update and insight into movements in the industry, and is uniquely tailored to meet the networking needs of participants.
