MANAMA, Jan 8 Asia Pulse - Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) set a new world record in safety when it became the first aluminium smelter in the world to record seven million working hours without a single Lost Time Injury (LTI).
The achievement was attributed to Alba's long-standing philosophy of regarding its employees as its greatest asset, a company spokesman said adding that safety remains firmly at the top of the company's priorities.
The record-breaking achievement has put Bahrain ahead of even the most developed industrial nations in the world, he said.
It reflects the tremendous investment the company has made in developing safety systems at Alba.
"This world-record setting achievement was made possible because of the resolute commitment of Alba management to safety and the increasing interaction with employees to promote safety," he said.
