Canada plans to achieve net-zero emissions in aluminum industry by 2050

   It was reported that the Canadian government will invest in improving energy efficiency, aiming to achieve net-zero emissions in the aluminum industry by 2050. Seamus O'Regan, the Minister of Natural Resources, said that US$40,000 will be invested in Alcoa Canada's energy information system so as to reduce the energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions at its Deschambault aluminum smelter.

  Besides, Alcoa and ?nergir, the main distributor of natural gas in Quebec, contributed to this project as well, raising the total investment to US$350,000.
