BHP Billiton PLC (BLT.LN), announced Friday it purchased 1,236,431 ordinary shares at an average price of 2,301.35 pence per ordinary share.

MAIN FACTS:

-The highest price paid was 2,322.00 pence per ordinary share and the lowest price paid was 2,263.00 pence per ordinary share.

-Following the cancellation, the total number of BHP Billiton Plc ordinary shares in issue will be 2,175,171,370.

-Shares closed Friday at 2316.50 pence
