Nov 29 (Reuters) - Rio Tinto Alcan, a unit of global mining giant Rio Tinto (RIO.L), said Monday it will raise its investment to build an aluminum plant in Paraguay to $3.5 billion from $2.5 billion previously.
Rio Tinto, which announced the initial investment in December 2009, said the project will produce an estimated 670,000 tonnes of aluminum a year, according to project manager Juan Pazos Romero.
