Brazilian Primary aluminum production grows 3.8% in July

ABAL announced the figures of July/07 for primary aluminum production. According to the association, 141.9 thousand ton were produced in the month, a volume 3.7% above the production in July 2006. The accrued production from January to July amounted to 956.2 thousand ton, an increase of 2.9% compared to the same period in the previous year, when the production reached 929.1 thousand ton.

The results support the latest ABAL forecast, that points out to a 3.4% growth in the 2007 production, with the expectation of achieving 1,658 thousand ton of primary aluminum.
