he fourth Gulf Industry Fair was officially opened today by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC).
More than 100 exhibitors from 16 countries are showcasing their products, services and capabilities in BIECC Hall 1 until Thursday 10 February, representing the key sectors of aluminium, machine tools, industrial equipment, manufacturing, automation, steel, energy, logistics and ports and Free Zones and training and education.
Organised by Bahrain-based Hilal Conferences & Exhibitions (HCE), Gulf Industry Fair is the leading business-to-business (B2B) exhibition of its type in the Northern Gulf. It is held as countries in the region embark on multi-billion dollar investments in new industrial infrastructure, including world-class petrochemical plants and aluminium smelters, downstream manufacturing facilities, ports and logistics zones and business parks.
HCE Managing Director Jubran Abdulrahman said: “Having the support of the highest echelons of the government is of immense value to Gulf Industry Fair. This year, the Fair - the most comprehensive in the region encompassing all the main industrial sectors - is 10 per cent bigger than the 2010 show in terms of exhibitor numbers and floor area, and we also expect more visitors as our pre-show publicity campaign bears fruit.”
Gulf Industry Fair enjoys high-level strategic support from Bahrain’s National Oil & Gas Authority (Noga) in association with the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco); Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), one of the world’s largest aluminium smelters; Majaal, a small and medium enterprises-focused warehousing and logistics development; British Offset Office and the Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY).
Gulf Industry Fair will be open to trade and business visitors from 11am to 8pm on all three days.
