Expo Special: World aluminium community to convene in Shanghai

Aluminium China 2010 will open to the global aluminium community for the sixth time at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from June 9 to 11.

More than 90 percent of stands have been booked in the 23,000 sq m exhibition area.

There will be three pavilions highlighting: primary aluminium; recycling; and aluminium auto-parts. These pavilions will address the latest trends and topics most relevant to the China market.

The primary aluminium pavilion will focus on producers, relevant electrolysis equipment and accessory providers, as well as aluminium processing operations and energy-saving technology.

The leading Chinese society on recycling, the Recycling Metal Branch of China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association, a strategic partner of the show, has confirmed their official endorsement of the recycling pavilion and will host the International Aluminium Recycling Forum.

To support the launch of the aluminium auto-parts pavilion, SAE International - HK, a key regional section of the world's leading automotive engineering community, will cooperate with Aluminium China to host the first edition of the SAE Asia Congress from June 10 - 11 to coincide with the exhibition.

The congress will focus on cutting edge electric vehicle (EV) technology developments and the application of such technology in China. A tour of Aluminium China 2010 will be organized as part of the congress program.

In order to provide networking and educational opportunities for exhibitors at the auto-parts pavilion, Reed Exhibitions will organize a full-day conference on light-weight automotive components on the third day of the event. A number of leading Chinese automotive manufacturers including FAW, Dongfeng, Chang'an and Chery will deliver sessions during the conference.
