Physical properties:
The appearance of Aluminium Fluoride is white or big six-sides crystals, density 3.00 g/cm3; melting point is 1 040 ℃, boiling point is 1 272 ℃. Slightly soluble in cold water; soluble in hot water. Heated to 300-400 ℃, it will be partial decomposed into hydrogen fluoride and alumina by water vapor.
Applications: It is used to decrease the melting point of electrolyte and increase the conductivity in aluminium electrolytic industry. It is also used as a flux for non-ferrous metal; a cosolvent for ceramic glaze and enamel; as well as a inhibitor of side fermentation in the essential oil production etc.
