Para Programmable Spectrometer, Model PPS-1 is a Micro-controller based mains operated, PC controlled instrument suitable for Counting Applications. |
It enables user to fix the parameters like Coarse Gain, HV, LLD or Window level of the system for required isotope being used on regular basis. These parameters for different radio isotopes are stored on PC. At the beginning, keep the radio isotope of interest. Through software package supplied with the instrument, user can adjust High Voltage of Detector, Coarse Gain of Amplifier, Threshold and Window level of SCA. After setting of the instrument, user can store all these parameters in a file. Likewise user can fix the parameters for different radio isotopes and save them in file format. Later on, whenever the radio isotope is changed, reload the file for the radio isotope of interest. The software package will transfer the parameter values to instrument through serial communication. The instrument will automatically adjust all its parameters for the selected radio isotope.
PPS-1, consists of Spectroscopy Amplifier, SCA, HV supply for detector. Analog switches are used in Spectroscopy Amplifier to control the Coarse Gain of the Amplifier. Fine gain of the amplifier is adjustable through 10 turn helipot on front panel. 8 BIT DACs are used to adjust High Voltage, Threshold and Window Set Point.
NaI(Tl) Detector, PMT Preamplifier, Lead Shield for NaI(Tl) detector are supplied as optional accessories for PPS-1. Detector and shield assembly are supplied as per user requirement.
