Translation and raising system

The furnace is mounted on a trolley with wheels, moved by an hydraulic cylinder, that allow translation outside of the perimeter of the framework for maintenance operations.

The connection with mold bush is assured by the furnace lifting, 250 mm stroke, carried out by four large diameter screwssimultaneously operatedby chain transmission by an electric motor gear power 1.5 kW.

The seal between furnace and mould is assured by a suspension system, made up of four groups of springs that are compressed during the raising of the furnace and that take care of compensating eventual slack due to thermal expansion and vibrations.

All the moving parts are protected against external agents and splashes of aluminium by means of sheet metal guards.

The furnace lid is designed to host one or two raiser tubes, according the casting requirements. The tubes can have different positions along the furnace horizontal axis, depending on the type of mould used. According to these positions, a special support to be positioned on the furnace opening is necessary each time.

Option a) Heating system 
The furnace is heated with three silicon carbide heating elements (40 KW maximum power) with specialprotection tubes.
The furnace is provided with three thermocouples to control the temperature of the molten alloy, of heating elements and of the furnace vault.Each one can be easily replaced.
A thermoregulator guaranteeing an accurate control of the bath temperature manages the feeding system.

Option b) Heating System
The furnace heating is carried out by 27 armoured resistances placed on the furnace lid for a total electrical power of 30 kW about. The resistance position allows replacing them very quickly when necessary, in fact it is sufficient to have a spare cover to restart the production in some hours.
The furnace is equipped with thermocouples for the melted bath and resistances temperature control, which are easy to replace from outside.


Refractory materials

The furnace is heat insulated by three different types of refractory materials (two for basin, one for lid), the best products on market; an internal coating in special refractory material which hampers the aluminium and the melted alloy components to corrode the furnace internal surfaces for a long operating period.

Pressurization system

Air injection into the furnace is done by a proportional valve that allows the effectuation of pressure ramps and compensation of any small air leakages.

The system comes complete with a load valve (NC) and discharge valve (NO) with pneumatic actuator, safety discharge valve, pressure transducer and minimum pressure switch.

The electronic control system increases at each casting the furnace pressure during the filling phase in a quantity which can be set on the dialog panel.
